In order of preference: Edward, Edwin, Edmund.
I would go with Eddie for a youngster. Unfortunately right now I can't think of Ted without thinking of Ted Cruz. I live in Texas and I am about as far from being a fan of Ted Cruz as you can get. So I guess Ed for an older person. Ned seems moldy and flat to me.
