I’d go with Edwin. Edward’s too serious and formal yet also reminds me of Squidward. One of my first associations with it is Twilight as well (though Rob Pattinson is a fine man). Edmund is super whiny. So is Edwin actually, but still the best of the three.

I’d go with Ed / Eddy for an adult. Eddy for a child as well. Ned / Neddie’s the worst imo.
