As a first name, I would go with Edmund as I have always found it striking. But for a middle name, Edwin has matched better with other names in my experience. Despite being the most common of the 3 by a huge margin, Edward is the only one I don't like.
Ned would be the nickname I'd most likely use. I don't like Ted or Teddy. Ed is all right, but Eddie makes me think of skeevy dudes for some reason.
