I think this is my preferred spelling for Katherine. At least, I seem to always check to see if that second "a" is there, and when it is I feel a strange sense of satisfaction. I have no idea why that is, or when that started. It seems like a slightly more elevated version of Katherine to me. If I had to use the name, I'd use this spelling for sure.
