I think it's pretty and could work as a first name. It's no shorter in sound than Rose, Grace, Anne, Faith, Ruth, etc.

I do, however, think that it's a lot of pressure to put on a child. Who wants to be joyful all the time? What if Joy has depression? I'd put it in the middle.
