Re: Astrid
in reply to a message by Orla.
It's been rising in popularity in the US. I did several polls on it as a FN in 2019, and the response was consistently lukewarm ("it's usable" or "like it").
I've been liking all the *rid names lately. I started liking Astrid a few years ago; now I like Ingrid and Sigrid.
...they just seem so sturdy and tidy or something - succinct, with character. Like Ruth or Esther but less religious.
Or maybe like Charlotte / Edith / Irene ...but more Scandinavian.
Astrid Viola
Astrid Rowena
Astrid Amaryllis
Astrid Lorelei
Astrid Leopoldine
Astrid Leona
Astrid Olympia
Astrid Rosemary
Astrid Pansy
Astrid Paulina
Astrid Ulalume
Astrid Ulrika
Astrid Ursula
Astrid Viviana
Astrid Valentina
Astrid Verbena
Astrid Carmina
I feel like it combines well with almost anything.
