Bland sibset
If you had to name a sib set of 4, 2 girls 2 boys, and you had to use the "blandest" names you could think of that you still actually kind of like/can tolerate, what would you pick?

Here is where the English Renaissance comes in handy (assuming we're talking about bland names in Anglophone culture):Elizabeth Mary
James Henry
Anna Rose
William Thomas

I thought about Elizabeth and William but even though they're common, they still sound too "zingy" to count as bland IMO (especially Elizabeth).

I thought that about Edward. Too much gravitas to be truly bland for me!

Judy (like), Joseph (tolerate), Maddison (like), Brandon (can BARELY tolerate). I like very unique names generally, especially on boys.

Lucy, Mary, Jack, and ThomasAnd these are actually my current #1 and #2 for girls, and #2 and #4 for boys, so who knows, it might happen xD I love bland names.

A lot of these names don't read as "bland" to me. Or, maybe I just have very bland tastes. I'd be thrilled to meet a baby Dorothy or John these days! I think bland names are the ones that have been trendy for too long now, like Liam and Ava. Liam
Ava
Owen
Mia Or, I guess if I am going the more traditional route that other people seem to be taking: Elizabeth
George
Peter
Margaret

If you're thrilled by John you're thrilled by a bland name.

Fair enough.

Yeah, I thought of that as well, as I was making my set. It would actually be different and refreshing to meet a Marie or a Douglas, so are those really bland?I also played around with modern-bland names and Owen was on my list too!

I still meet a lot of Douglases :P. I think it's halfway between a "bro name" and a "dad name" and it would just be awkward on a kid, not refreshing.

huh, I don't think I've ever met a Douglas.

The FNs are all going to be what I chose for my ultimate sibling set a few days ago, because I love how they go together, even though they are boring. Katherine Rose -- "Kate" or "Katie" depending on her personality and preference.
Elizabeth Anna -- I think I'd like to use Betty or Beth as her nickname, but it would depend on her preference.William Henry -- I would definitely call him Will, because I don't care for the other nicknames.
Theodore James -- I prefer Teddy to Theo, so that's what I'd want to call him, but Teddy feels childish, in my opinion. I would've used Jane in a middle name spot for one of the girls, but it's too similar to James and I knew I was using that for one of the boys. The MNs I ended up using for the girls are the middle names of my sisters, so that's honoring. And, for a bonus, Anna and Elizabeth are my cousin's names, so I'm honoring them as well. Anna is also a family name. William is my grandfather's name, so I wouldn't mind using it in real life. I don't have any relatives named Henry, Theodore, or James, but I think they work well with this set. In real life, if I were to do this set, I'd make Theodore's middle name Francis, because that honors two family members, Frank and Frances, and that way each of the kids would have at least one honoring name.

Olivia Jane, Alexandra Mary, Robert Joseph, Thomas John. I kept wanting to say "William" for some reason though, I kind of like it more than Robert? Robert is a family name and I like it, but for some reason William appeals a little more.... hmm gotta pray about it
