Gage was fairly common for boys in the USA between 1995 and 2015. I think it's a good name in the abstract but I'm a little queasy about the fact that it was popularized by a character in "Pet Sematary" who was a small child who came back from the dead and murdered his mother. When I mention that I often get the response "but the child actor who played him was so cute!"
There was also some influence, though, from a character on the American TV show "Emergency!" named John Gage who was usually addressed as "Gage" by other characters on that program.
