Some of these names are quite familiar because they've taken over everywhere - like Sofia. Yet in other cases, it's nice to see that what is trendy in Italy is not necessarily what's trendy everywhere else.

Chiara - I once knew three sisters (first-generation Italian-Americans) named Luciana, Tania, and Chiara
