I like both names as well!
If you live in Germany and are a German-speaker, then I'd imagine Jude would be problematic (for the reasons you allude to). In this case Conrad would be far more practical, and easier to bear as a name.

Not in Germany (in the US) and not German speakers, just trying to be conscientious.
Oh, well in that case Jude shouldn't be an issue at all. Most people would probably think of the actor Jude Law before any reference to Jews (or to Judas, for that matter).
In fact, I think in the U.S. Jude would be the easier name to have than Conrad, which might make people think of "comrade" - and depending on the neighborhood you live in, that could be a very, very negative association.
