Carol
I actually really like Carol. It makes me think of Christmas and I don't find it all that dated anymore. What do you think of Carol? Chances for a comeback?Carol or Carole?

Eh. It feels dated and flat to me. I prefer Caroline by miles.

I thik it's very pretty. A bit softer than Karen, happier than Caroline, and a bit more old-fashioned than Carolyn.
It makes a really nice middle name too. I don't know if it's ready for a comeback yet.
Carole looks weird.

CaroleI'm starting to come around to this name again as well. If nothing else, it would certainly make a nice change from all the currently generic middle names. I like that E at the end.

I like it in theory, but it sounds garbled and indistinct when I utter it.

With a name as stunningly beautiful as Caroline, Carol looks like its amputee version. I like Karel for a male, also. So, no.

Give me Caroline any day. Otherwise, definitely Carol. That -e serves no purpose. I suppose it'll come back when other 1940s and 1950s names do: Carol and Sandra and Linda and Patricia and Susan.

It's ok, prefer Carol

I think Carol is pretty and friendly, and I think it will be ripe for a revival in the next decade or so. It's getting into vintage territory now. Carole is more glamourous, I think I prefer that one. It reminds me of Bettye, with that superfluous e.

It's pretty. Carole. Yeah, I can see it becoming the new Marie.
