Loïc vs. Louis
So, I’m moving to New Orleans. Next month. I am inspired by the names Loïc and Louis via Louisiana. Which do you prefer?Since I’m still not solid on any middle name for my new name, I’m beginning to really see appeal in Andrew Loïc Sparrow, and would like your feedback.Sparrow

Love Loïc, butI kind of hate how it looks and sounds next to Andrew. André Loïc is more harmonious.

I really don't like Louis, for no reason, the sound doesnt appeal to me though. Louisa and Louise are fine though. Loïc looks really cool though! It fits the combo really well.

LouisThe other looks one too foreign for me.You should use whatever you relate to most. It's your name.

Loïc is very attractive and splendid as a mn; I weep to think what novices would achieve when trying to pronounce it for the first time. It is a really good fulcrum between Andrew and Sparrow!Louis is fine in French. I don't like the sound of it in English (and my French isn't good enough for me to pronounce it properly). I do like Lewis, as in Carroll and Hamilton, and I would consider it. But I think Loïc is more 'you'.

I prefer Louis - just because I'd expect about 99% of the people that I meet would pronounce the other name Low-ick (that might be different for you, of course). And all my attempts to say LAW-EEK come out sounding like a doofy affected prn of "like" (French sounds lovely but I have none, and no ability to do the accent).I'm not thrilled by the flow of the combo with Louis though, with the -drew Lou- and all three names ending in vowel sounds, and Louis has a slight W sound in it too (in my accent anyway).I think Zadkiel is better than either, for whatever that's worth to you.

Congrats on the move! For general, FN usage, I'd prefer Louis (either pronunciation).
Just looking at Loïc, I wouldn't know how to pronounce it. However, after clicking on it and seeing the pronunciation, I do like how it sounds with Andrew Sparrow. Since it's just a middle name, and not something people use on a day-to-day basis, you should go for it if you really like it.

Both have their appeal, Louis bc you can nn it Lou {♥} and Loïc bc it is so novel to me.

Congrats on the move, that's exciting!I love Louis, but I'd love to meet a Loïc, what a great name. Andrew Loïc Sparrow looks fantastic, very sylvan. The drawback with Loïc is that I'm sure people would butcher it, but then....a middle name isn't spoken aloud very much, is it!

Personally, I'd go with either Louie or Lewis depending on the way you want Louis to be pronounced, and I'm unsure which one you prefer for Louis.
I'm assuming Lewis because of Louisiana, but since you are considering Loïc (law-eek), I'm back to unsure.Either way, I'm not keen on Loïc, either its pronunciation or visually.

Louie it or Lewis are laughable compared to Loïc. Louis maybe, but c’mon.
