It's really pretentious even as virtue names go. I always thought Kathy Reichs was overdoing it badly when she named her main character Temperance Brennan; I imagine she did it at least partly to prevent the possibility of some real person suing her and wasting her time about using that person's name, but it is just not a plausible choice for a fictional character of modern times. It's anachronistic and calls too much attention to itself.Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you criticize him, you're a mile away and you have his shoes!
