Dahlia
I feel like a lot of people don’t like Dahlia. When I rate Dahlia on the few lists including her I come across, or I read comments addressing her, they all seem to be negative. So do you like the name Dahlia? And why?Do you like the spelling Dalia?Do you like the nickname Dollie / Dolly?_________________

I don't like it pronounced the Brit way - day-lee-uh. Not fond of the flower either - they really attract earwigs.
But I do like Dalia and Daliah, as borne by the Israeli actress Daliah Lavi.

I pronounce it Dahl (like doll) -ee-uh. :)I wasn’t aware they pronounce it day-lee-uh overseas.

I like it. It's pretty and it's a flower, but not an overused one. I think I would pronounce Dalia differently and I don't think Dolly / Dollie works as a nickname because of the different spelling.

I don't like Dahlia. It is saccharine to me. Suffocatingly 50s. Dal-lee-uh, the sound is unattractive to me. Dalia is a little better. I like Dolly as a stand alone name. Dollie looks kinda sickly sweet and babyish IMO.

It's OK overall - the spelling is good, but I don't like that it has no meaning and history. I prefer Daria / Darya.I prefer Dalia over Dahlia - it makes this name not that 'botanical' (Dahl-ia). The nickname Dollie / Dolly is lovely.
