I think it's fine as a middle name, as far as fandom names go. There is always a risk with names like this, though -- you have to be open-hearted about it if your child hates Anne of Green Gables and wants to change her name the second she's legally able. (I guess you could say that's true of any name, but I think it's particularly risky with fandom names.)

That's interesting. People don't seem to use, say, Scout or Atticus as mns, presumably because they want the non-reading public to know that they actually Have Read A Book. But Avonlea as a mn ... it doesn't sound human, but it doesn't look like showing off either. Just avoid Anne or Diana as fns!
