I'm pretty sure I'd like it, IRL.
I like Charity and Cheryl IRL, though am not a fan of Sherry.
It's not as silly seeming as Kiwi (and I've got an aunt named that), as fruit names go.
Tree names are trending with a certain crowd, nowadays.
Cherry blossoms are gorgeous! And symbolic.
It sounds happy, maybe because it looks like cheery.Other names I'd group it with...
(of ones I like) Penny, Jade, Ginger, Wendy, Maple, Blossom, Clover, Merry, Mimi, Jewel
(of ones I dislike) Pepper, Scarlet, Candy, Sugar, Brandy, Sirena, Minty, Cerise, Piper, Coral

Hard to be positive about what used to be a slangy word for a pretty young female: much like Chick. Food names are difficult anyway, but Cherry is also too close to Sherry and could easily be confused with it. Who needs that in their life? I don't much like Cheryl either, but it's a whole lot better.

I liked it ever since I found out it was used as a name. I think it's sweet. Antique sweet like Shirley or June.
It's enough like Sherry and Cherie (and Ruby and Charity), to seem antique rather than trashy. (by trashy I don't mean the opposite of classy, I mean like noisynora's image of it, self-consciously rockabilly or something) It seems cheerful and gentle. I'm sad about the salacious associations that make it kinda, sorta unusable - if it were a new usage, they'd make me not like it.

Meh. It’s not complete bad. Better than Apple though.

It feels both cheap (in a porn-stage-name way) and very dated, even more so than Sherry, which I actually like.

Yeah! It's really cool. Makes me think of a motorcycle riding girl who has a fifties style delinquent boyfriend. They both wear black leather jackets and she paints her fingernails black. She wears red lipstick. Her bf's name is Tommy or Jerry.
