America Ferrera is the only person I can think of with this name, and it works okay on her. It has a very first generation American vibe, which also isn't bad. However, in general, country and continent names seem over the top. Africa, Europe, China, Australia would come across as too much and possibly tacky.

If it weren't tied to two continents and a country, then I do like the sound of it, and some of the possible meanings of Amerigo are good such as "industrious."
