How do you pronounce the name Lauren?
I've heard people pronounce it as "Lure - in" or "Lo - ren".

LOURE-in
I've never heard the Lure-in version. It's always Lo ren where I live, with the o like the vowel in stop or mop, not as in shore. And certainly not Lah ren, which is what I'd imagine often happens in the States.
LOR-ən
The "aw" thing that BtN says almost doesn't exist in my accent, all those words usually just sound like "ah" instead of that "ah with a scoop" thing that I think "aw" is supposed to mean. Or like a vowel that moves from "o" to "ah"? Anyway, Lauren with that pronunciation sounds a little pretentious to me, in the US I'd assume the person was maybe from the east or south (?), maybe Boston?? and if I try to say it like that in my accent it sounds more like lah-ren. The way I actually say it is indistinguishable from Loren. I went to high school with a girl named Loren and nobody could tell that it wasn't Lauren unless they saw the spelling.
