My only association is with King Lear's middle daughter; not a role model.
Apart from that, it's a surname, which I don't enjoy. And I think President Reagan had a government minister surnamed Regan. Too much!

I far prefer Megan, pronounced MEG'n. My son was at school with a Tegan who pronounced it TEEg'n; I would have guessed TEG'n.
