Aurora, Dawn, Zora, or Eos?
Quick question: Which ones of these names that mean “Dawn” to you like most? Feel free to state your honest opinions below. For me:Aurora: 8/10. It’s growing on me, but the sound can be kind of awkward at times, but the spelling is really pretty.
Dawn: 6.5/10. I also like Dawn, the problem is that the pronunciation of Dawn is too close to Don for most people. Not to mention it’s the name of a dish soap. The spelling is pretty, the sound kind of turns me off, kind of like Aurora.
Zora: 6.5/10. I actually kinda like Zora. I prefer Zara, but Zora has a nice sound to it, and the spelling is kinda nice.
Eos: 1/10. Borderline hideous in my opinion. I hate the spelling, and the pronunciation makes it worse. It’s also the name of a lip balm I use. I hate it.So, out of all of these, I’d say Aurora is my favorite. What about you? I would love to hear your honest opinions down below.Oh, and other names that mean Dawn: Alba, Ayelet, Li, Roxana, Ushas, Zoraida."People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing all day." Rate my personal name list please :) https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/217493

ZoraI prefer Zoraida, though. Reminds me of Soraya, which I find very pretty.

Zora or EosDawn is tacky and quite unbecoming. Aurora's overused.

Zora!Zora is 10/10, underappreciated. I love it. Actually, I just made a post about Zora, before I saw this thread.Eos is a GP of mine, totally impractical for real life but it has an intriguing sound. (I pronounce it EH-ohs / AY-ohs, the Greek way.)Dawn is decent, and would be unexpected to see as a first name today. As for names with similar sounds, I actually prefer Donna, but that's a "Mom name" today.Aurora... oh, how I wish I could love thee. It's perfectly nice when other people say it, and are able to enunciate the syllables (always connected with an R) without difficulty. But Aurora always sounds like a mess coming out of my mouth.

Aurora!Aurora is a solid 9/10Zora is okay, a 5/10Dawn is a name I want to like but can't 3/10. It's not too close to Don in my accent and you can't mistake them;https://dictionary.cambridge.org/pronunciation/english/donEos is ugly 1/10I like Roxana, but I much prefer Roxanne. For Roxanne, I will also give it 9/10. Roxana gets a 6/10Zoradia is nice, I like it. 6/10Alba sounds like she ate too many pancakes 1/10Ayelet sounds unpleasant 1/10Li is ... fine. I don't like it, but it's fine. 3/10Ushas also sounds ugly. Another 1/10

Aurora: I love this, but it's a little overused. In English I just think of this kind of aurora (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aurora), not dawn. I've only met 2, one was a dog and we called her that because she looked like a polar bear, and the other was a human who went by Rory. Dawn: I know a cool person named Dawn, but it's a little dated. I don't mind the "Don" thing; they sound the same in my accent anyway. Zora: I like this, it's short and cool but not conspicuous at all. It does sound like a name most people would choose just for the sound, with the meaning as a cool bonus. I think this is my favorite of these 4, especially for naming a real baby.Eos: I like it, but I kinda prefer it genderbent. Not sure if that's weird.
I also love Alba and Zoraida. Ayelet is nice too.

I pretty much agree with what you said. Aurora is definitely my favorite, though part of that is that I love Disney and the nickname Rory. I like Zora bit more than Dawn. Eos just definitely makes me think of lip balm. I kind of like Alba, but see it as old-fashioned. I like Zoraida as a guilty pleasure. Roxana and Li are okay.

Aurora: 4/10. Annoyingly trendy and girly. I don’t care for it.
Dawn: 3/10. Same here, but it’s even uglier.
Zora: 5/10. Meh. It feels like it’s trying to be pretty but only kinda half-way succeeds.
Eos: 7/10. I like it. The mythology association is nice and it’s nowhere near as sugary as Aurora.I also like Ayelet, and I could see a regal, mature, intelligent Indian girl pulling off Ushas.
