I think it's cute and old-fashioned, but I always say fil-EE-pa instead of Philip-a and I don't know if that's a real pronunciation.
I think it goes well with lacy, dusty, and floral names. (Rosemary, Annegret, Theodosia, Winifred, Wilhelmina, etc.)

Meh. It just feels dated to me.
Irs ok

In my personal opinion, that is.

I love the name enough to use it; I also like Philip for a boy, but not nearly as much.
Associations? Two very nice people I've known, plus I like the sound of it.

I don't like Philip/Phil in general, but oddly enough, I love Philippa . It's very fun and quirky.
I do like it a lot. I have a good friend with the name, and she doesn't use a nickname (occasionally, very occasionally she is Phil)
My friend worked for the Royal Shakespeare Company for a short time. She said there were FIVE women called Philippa in he office, and she was the only one who didn't go by Pippa or Pip, which I heartily dislike.

I like it but not enough to use. My main associations with it are horses and a girl I know who is very sweet.
