Finn is one of my favorite masculine names, primarily because of the works of Mark Twain. (And before anybody says anything: yes, I know it's his surname. But I am not about to name my son Huckleberry. You can't play the Name Game with Huck.) It's short and sweet, but I don't think it's weak.
Right now my stock combo is Finn Gabriel, and I don't think it's changing anytime soon.
I prefer Finlay to Finnegan, which sounds comical to me ("Finn again?"). Finlay would be nice to use if the surname began with N.
