I love Isabeau. Isabeau is the name of the matriarch of the De Clermont family in The All Souls Trilogy but she spells it Ysabeau.

I don’t think it’s pretty or interesting. Just kinda unappealing and weird. I really like Isabelle and it’s like the unattractive sister of Isabelle.

I do like Isabeau! It has an elegantly medieval charm - and would be a breath of fresh air from the hundreds of Isabellas running around right now.

It might still be too similar to the uber popular Isabel for me personally. But it's a gorgeous alternative.

It's squarely medieval but also accessible (though I love unwieldy medieval names, of course!). Because of the slightly subversive "beau" ending, I think of a royal woman who likes to defy the strictures of regency. :)
