Arthur or Percy?
Two of my favourite boys names are Arthur and Percy. I am not overly keen on Percival but am unsure if Percy is not enough of a name in itself? Would you pick Arthur or Percy or neither? Thanks!

ArthurArthur all the way, I just like the sound and feel and everything more. At this point, Percy reminds me of Percy Pig sweets.

Arthur. No contest!Percy is way too stuffy and pretentious for my likely. Of course not as much as 'Percival' but it's still there.
Arthur is more natural, easy-going, less pompous.

Arthur100% no contest.Percy has alternate meanings in slang and I wouldn't do it to a child.

PercyI used to love Arthur but that has diminished somewhat. They're both great names though and I think Percy is perfectly fine as a name in it's own right.

Percy definitely! I just don’t like Arthur, it’s so frumpy and lifeless. Percy is spunky and lively and can definitely work as a full name, no problem at all.

I agree Percy has a lot of spunk to it!

ArthurI prefer the strong sound Arthur to the softer Percy. I do think, though, that Percy can stand on its own.

I like both Arthur and Percy. Percy works fine as a name in itself, I feel, and I think I’d pick it over Arthur.

Percy is fine as an independent name. I would use it rather than Arthur because it is a family name and the name of an old family friend. Arthur carries a weight of once-and-future expectations with it that could be awkward. Good name, though.

Arthur -m-Percy is pompous imo

I think Percy is good in itself. It's like Harry that way. Percival / Percy over Arthur personally, but I think they're both too dated imo

I love them both, but if I had to choose one, I’d pick Arthur.

I love Arthur, though partly for sentimental reasons. But only if you don't call him Art. I think Percy works on its own. But I actively dislike it.

Yeah I'm not fond of Art or Arty either
