Philine
Do you like Philine? It has been used in German literature.

Like it a lot!!
It reminds me of the (now defunct?) department store Filene's Basement. It's fine, I guess, but I don't love it.
ha! reminded me of Filene's, too! It is defunct... as an in-person retailer, anyway. They've since reopened as an online shop.
It's ok
I like it but only pronouced in German, with the long i and eh sound at the end. Any other accent would butcher it pretty badly I imagine
It's not bad. I kinda like it, but it's not my style personally.
My main/immediate association is philistine.
With the ending pronounced as EE-neh, it seems cuter than how I'd read it (EEN).

Hi Perrine !!!
Thanks to bring the attention to this kind of names!
Infact I've just checked the name and I found that it was not edited (without stars)! I looked for its popularity at least.
Tell me about the literature link. I've never read that story. Who is Philine in Goethe's work? Is she a good character?
Edit the name if you have more info! XD

Yes, I will search for some German sources and edit it.
In German the name sounds like phih-LEE-neh. I think it's rather cute, but I don't like it enough to use it.
I haven't read the works she appeared in (I think she appeared in several, from what I can tell), but she is an alluring actress who is trying to endear herself to some gentlemen, according to wikipedia. Doesn't sound that great hahaha
It means "the friendly one, the lovable one" and is of Greek origin.
