Masculine.

Amal seems masculine to me, for a girl I'd prefer Amala.ETA: I actually didn't know until just now that Amal and Amala aren't forms of the same name.

I don't particularly care for it but it sounds more mascuine to me.

Feminine.
I have two clients at work with this name, but women of Arabic origin.

Masculine. I know that it is unisex because there is a famous female Amal, but the name still feels more masculine to me.

Amal is feminine, and quite lovely - like the similar Asal. Both names are on my "Different Cultures" GP list (since I am neither Persian nor Arab), and I'm far more likely to use Amalia in real life.

If there wasn't a famous female Amal for me to know about, I would have assumed it was entirely masculine. I guess that makes it unisex for me.

Truly unisex. Although before Amal Clooney I would have said it sounded totally masculine to me, but now I love it on a woman.

Unisex/masculine but I understand it’s mainly feminine?

I have taught boys and girls named Amal, but they're predominantly girls.
