I’ve always loved it. It’s not super fancy or anything but it’s nice and reliable and I like the sound a lot. It’s well known but not trendy where I live so I can’t describe it as overused. But it’s a classic. The -cob part is very pleasing to my ears, for some reason

I would have used it in a heart beat if it wasn’t so popular :(It’s been a family name since the 17th century. But despite that I still think it’s a strong, handsome name. James Jacob as a double name?

Once the Jacobs from the early 2000s are Great- Grandpas, then I will be ready for it to become popular again. Right now it has been popular for a while, so it is hard to view objectively. The meaning is off putting and the Biblical character was such a Slytherin although very influential.

Boring and never sounded good in the first place, I hate the -cob part. The nickname Jake is okay but also boring.

It's not bad, but it is overused. I like Jake.

Meh. I’m pretty neutral to it, though it’s a bit too trendy for my liking. I do know a nice guy named Jacob, though.

I like Jacob, despite its popularity. Where I live it's mostly spelled Jakob, and I prefer that spelling.

I feel like every Jacob I have ever known has been a rather large, rather unfortunate-looking bully. That is what I think of when I hear this name.

I like it, even if it is a little popular right now. Plus, I have a friend with this name, making the connotations more or less positive for me.This also happens to be your name, yes? Very nice....
