Just read a little more, Dessert is pronounced the same as Desert and is her Grandmas maiden name

Hmm, well at least there is some reason for it and she's not thinking of her son as some sort of cuddly confection. But, I mean, come on! My grandma's maiden name was Kleckley. I loved her to death, but her last name was hideous and so I'm not going to use it! I don't get recycling ugly or bizarre names.

I feel like in the middle name slot anything goes, though I did spend some years being annoyed at my parents for the bizarre surname that is my middle name.
I think it'd be less bad if it was just an odd name and not a word. Also if his name was a name and not a generic term of endearment or word for friends...
Honestly. I'm shocked you haven't got a little relative named Kleckley running around. That seems very in vogue atm.

Yeah, some surnames work well as given names (first or middle), but some decidedly do not.
Some names shouldn't be used willingly. I have a friend who's surname is Semenchuk... I'll just leave that here.
