I like Lola. It seemed to have some popularity back in the late 2000s, so it's a little more common that I'd like, but it's a good name. It always reminds me of Marlene Dietrich's catchy little song, "Ich bin die fesche Lola" from the movie "Der blaue Engel." To me, Lola is a spunky and feisty name. I think parents will rediscover it one of these days. When I hear it, I think of a fabulous Queer cabaret singer (with a strong alto voice and a penchant for the foxtrot) in a seedy underground bar in early 1930s Berlin and my heart sings.
