I dislike Desiree, it sounds tawdry and viscerally, in-your-face flirtatious. I'd pair it with something old-fashioned, like:
Desiree Agnes
Desiree Florence
Desiree Frances
Desiree Hester
Desiree Prudence
Desiree Sibyl
Desiree Tamsin

I really really like it, though I prefer it spelled as Désirée. As a general rule, I enjoy French names a lot and I could definitely use it in real life. Marie Désirée
Ariel Désirée
Rosalie Désirée
Marguerite Désirée
Isabelle Désirée
Eugenie DésiréeDésirée Valentine (said in French)
Désirée Madeleine
Désirée Elaine

It’s kind of tacky, and the one person I met with this name was a mean girl/ bully type of person.

I think it's cute with some good nickname potential. I prefer to spell it Desirae to lessen the "desire" effect when you look at it written.

It never suggests anything sexual to me; my friend since we were both six years old was named Desiree by her parents, who had really wanted a child. She is mostly known as Des, but I'm allowed to call her Daisy sometimes! I would like the name less if not for her, but even now I wouldn't use it - there are just so many names I like better.Desiree Anita
Desiree Marianne
Desiree Iris

Potato is my first association.
I agree with RoxStar about it being off-pityingly sultry. I really don’t like it but can’t quite put my finger on why it’s such a strong dislike.Needs something grounding and hard:Desirée Joan
Desirée Pomona
Desirée Ursula
Desirée Grainne
Desirée Roxane
Desirée Gwen

I once knew a Desiree (come to think of it, she might've been Desirae, I don't quite remember). She was the older sister of a classmate and went by "Dezi," and she she seemed so cool when I was a little kid. That's what the name Desiree is to me: "cool." She's a rock star. She's Kim Gordon in a leather jacket backstage before a show, dragging on a cigarette.

My response regarding a similiar post back in March:"This is a name that I am VERY familiar with since I have a cousin named it (From a direct aunt, both of whom I grew up with) So needless to say, I immediately associated the name with her. I think it's a pretty nice name, has an attractive and beautiful, almost 'exotic' vibe to it. I like that it's a bit different from the usual you hear but isn't strange or outlandish."Some combo ideas:Desiree Rose
Desiree June
Desiree Robin
Desiree Jasmine
Desiree Alice
Desiree Ida
Desiree Charlotte
Desiree Mara
Desiree Mira

It's very pretty, though in a slinky, glamorous way that is a bit off-putting. I'd group ith with names like Justine and Dominique and Simone. Very femme fatale, even though Desiree is pretty common in the US.I think it makes a better mn than fn.

I like that you could use Desi as a nickname.
