I like it. I like other names with those sounds, too.
If I imagine someone named Murdoch, the first image that comes to mind is an old man with a newsboy cap who probably smokes a pipe; maybe he's a fisherman or a lighthouse keeper.
Iris Murdoch wrote a book called The Sea, The Sea; also the mur part is similar to 'sea' in Gaelic (as in Murphy).
And one of the crew/sailors in the movie Titanic was called Mr. Murdoch.
Murdoch's sibling could be, um...
