Bella has grown on me and is now a name I like a lot. As for the Twilight character, she was Isabella Marie (yeah, I weirdly remember that) and just went by Bella.
I think it makes the most sense as a nickname for someone whose name ends in -bella. Like Isabella, Arabella, Annabella, Maybella etc.
I think I may still prefer it as a nickname but if it’s “just” Bella, then I want it to be part of a combo. “Bella-Louise” or something.
I think a person could easily grow up with Bella. AFAIK, Twilight isn’t a thing anymore with kids and teens.
On a sidenote: I LOVE most of the Twilight names. Somehow, Stephenie Meyer managed to choose a lot of the names I love.
