I'm in South Africa.I love Brendan and would have used it, given enough sons. My son Peter's best friend, since they were both three years old, is a Brendon, and I suppose I would have used that, though I don't enjoy it as much. Like my son, Brendon is a computer whizz; unlike him, Brendon used to play underwater hockey. Brandon just doesn't have the distinctive vibe I get from Brend*n. Surnamey, with a dash of Marlon Brando ... not to mention a brand plucked from the burning, which doesn't appeal at all. In my accent, they couldn't be confused.
