I prefer Keira. Ciara looks like it should be pronounced Sierra.

I like the look of Ciara but dislike the sound of both. I prefer the see-ahr-a pronunciation. Ciara pronounced like Keira might sound nicer in an irish accent though.

Definitely Keira unless you’re Irish, I always want to pronounce Ciara phonetically.

I'd go with Ciara. I'd just teach people to say it right.

Because I think it's way cooler than Keira (which to me is surname Keir +a) or Kiera (which looks bad to me).
If I can't be Kira, I'd much rather be Ciara and correct people who say Sierra, than be Keira and fuss over what order they put my vowels in.

As for the two names given, I definitely prefer Keira :)

Kiera and Kira are the safest ways to get to the Keer-ra pronunciation.

In Australia (or at least where I am) Ciara is generally pronounced Kee-ara and I know a few who spell it Ciara as well as another who spells it Kiara. I personally prefer Kiara for Kee-ara and Kira for Keer-a.

I know a few Ciara that are all pronounced like Sierra and that is how I would instinctively say it. So for the pronunciation you want I would use Keira, but as others have said, I prefer Kira.

Ciara before Keira, to be sure. They're both confusing, and if you're going to be confusing I think it's better to be "authentic." I think Ciara looks a lot nicer too.

Ciara is See-R-Uh like the singer Ciara. Between Ciara and Keira, I prefer Keira (Keer-uh).

I like Ciara best but as others have said in the US people would likely pronounce it like Sierra. It’s the same with my name. Ceri is pronounced Kerry not Serry or Surrey.

I like the name overall. But never quite enough to use it. When Keira Knightley first got famous it really took off, and I was sure to see it in the top 50, but it never got there and dropped siginificantly. Therefore it feels a bit 2000s to me. Not horribly dated or anything, but a tiny bit. It fits in with names like Kayla, Kendra and other 80s/90s favorites too.

Keira - this is VERY Keira Knightley to me, therefore I would stay away from it. I like her, but this spelling is very much associated with her, to me personally. I once read that she was named after a 1980s figure skater named Kira and that when her father registered her name he was supposed to put "Kira" on the certificate but apparently didn't know how to spell it and put "Keira" on it instead which her mom wasn't pleased about but I guess it was okay as they didn't change it.

Kira - this has an additional meaning (alternate spelling of Ciara = black but also Russian form of Cyrus = far-sighted or young). I dislike the far-sighted meaning a bit. It looks nice to me but also a bit like "Kiri" (the cream cheese).

Kiera - I really really like this one, but fear it would often be misspelled. It looks really nice to me.

Ciara - I also really like this. Yes, it is likely to be mispronounced but corrected easily enough. It seems very authentic.

Kyra - I would pronounce this KY-ra and therefore would find it odd and unintuitive for KEE-ra.

Kirra - apparently a place in Australia but looks more like KIR-ra so wouldn't use this.

Oh by the way, I think she will always say how it is spelled anyway. So might as well use the more authentic Ciara. But both are fine.

I'd use Kira, to eliminate all confusion as to how to pronounce it. Kira's my niece's name.
Ciara sometimes is intended as a different spelling of Sierra, and I've even known it to be pronounced See-AHR-a. It's just needlessly ambiguous.

The only KEER-a I'd actually use is Kira, but I'd pick Ciara over Keira.
(I also think Kiera makes more sense than Keira. I used to like Keira and Kiera equally but now I think Keira looks like it should be pronounced more like Cara or Kyra.)
