WDYTO Leigh (g)?
Been on my mind lately. How does Leigh on its own stack up against names that end in -leigh/ley/ly? Does it sound incomplete? How would you categorize this name (e.g., classic, sporty, boring, feminine)?Do you prefer Leigh (g) or Lee (b)?

It's unobjectionable, and for a girl, I do prefer the Leigh spelling. It looks more feminine. Okay? Okay??

I like Leigh best. Lee is too much like Robert e Lee the Confederate general. Love Leigh so much! ❤️

Hate itI'm sorry, but it hardly amounts to a name for me. If I met someone named Leigh, I'd reflexively assume their parents didn't want to put effort into naming their child.

I find it unsubstantial, even with the spelling. Though I hate all -leigh names, I guess Leigh alone isn’t as bad.I don’t really like Lee either, for that matter. I find it bland and unsubstantial as well.

It's rather tepid to me. My mother wanted to name me Blair Leigh (as a boy). My father didn't approve.

I don't anything against it, though I personally wouldn't use it.

I don’t like anything about this name in any spelling. It just seems like a random syllable, devoid of character or substance. And the fact that its history involves yet another surname crossing over just clinches it, although usually after a period of time and enough usage it becomes bearable for me.But I suppose if my arm were really twisted I’d choose Leigh for a girl and Lee for a boy.

I actually like the Leigh spelling for a boy. I believe that is more typical in Great Britain? Not too keen on the name for a girl. But the right person could maybe sell me on it. I'm not a huge fan of the -ley names. They all sound so much alike. And some of them feel like you just took a name and tacked -ley on the end to make it more unique.

Both are ok. Leigh for a girl. Lee for a boy. I think both are better as middle names.

LeaI do not care for it much, but prefer it to Hayley, Bailey, Caylee, etc.I would best like the spelling Lea, as then it could be a nature name...grassy lea...

I can see that naming a boy Lee would be a reasonable use of a family ln. But, in spite of having an admirable step-nephew named Lee, I don't go for it. Leigh for a girl is a different matter. But I'm heavily influenced by a girl Leigh that I knew at school. She was strong, brave, warm and loving and she could have sold me on any name, I think! Her name was Mabel Leigh, which doesn't flow as a combo and she always went by Leigh anyway. I think they were both family names.

Leigh for a girl. Lee for a boy.
While I think Lee can stand on its own for a boy, I’ve never felt the same for a girl. Definitely more a mn for a girl.

I think Leigh looks ugly, and it makes me want to put a phlegm sound at the end of the name. The only Leigh I know is an older guy with gray hair.
Lee is good on its own, it's more feminine, cute and short and versatile. But it really feels like a nickname or a filler middle name.
Lee for a boy makes me think of someone middle-aged or older. On a girl it could be any age.
