I love it and would use it in a heartbeat. I love the nickname possibilities, and I love the history of the name.

Don't like it. It's the eeze sound in there.

I've loved it ever since it was given to a friend's sister when we were about 9 or 10. She was the most enchanting little girl, and I can't separate those memories from her name. I would use it happily.

I like Heloise better, Eloise looks a bit incomplete.

I don’t like it, but that’s probably mainly because my own name used to be mistaken for it a lot as a child, and that really annoyed me! I also don’t really like the sound, which is strange because I like similar sounding names like Louisa and Elise. I think it sounds kind of prissy and wimpy.

It's nice. I like Lois too.

I've changed my mind. Eloise is absolutely the most enchanting name in the world. The "weez" sound no longer makes me think of wheezing. Rather, it makes me think of....well, never mind that. It still knocks me off my feet and I want to build an altar to Eloise in my living room.

I think it's pretty cute. I wouldn't use it because I prefer Louisa or Louise (or Eleanor for that matter) but I really do like it.

So pretty and not super common or popular, though I predict it will gain popularity soon.

I like it! Especially as a middle name. I love the combo Ivy Eloise.
Though, I think I do prefer Elodie.

It's a great name! I'm more used to playing around with it as a middle (it goes with just about anything), but it is a sophisticated first name.

It does, however, make me think of the Lost episode, "The Constant," where Desmond is flashing back and forth through time and he has to find Faraday at Oxford University in the 90s and tell him "I know about Eloise!" in order to gain his trust. (I know that synopsis sounds absolutely bonkers if you've never watched the show, but it is one of the best episodes in the series - and it's also my first association with the name Eloise.)

I like it. I’ve seen it more and more. For a few years everyone seemed to be naming their girls Eliza and now Eloise has come along. I know of a four year old with the name and has the nn Weezy.

It's uncommon these days and pretty. The pronounciation is darling.

There were many Eloises in my grade at school and most went by Ellie, all were lovely people though! I like it :)

I love it! Once when I was waaaaaaaaay younger I made a story where there were three sibilings, one was Eloise and one was Louise nn Lulu! I was crazy back then.

It's OK. I feel pretty neutral about it. It seems like the sort of name that is going to have a big surge in popularity. There's just something about it. Old fashioned, not unheard-of....

A minor point, but I pronounce it EL-o-weez and I pronounce Louise loo-WEEZ. I understand other posters' point that they both have the "weez" sound but to me Eloise is not Louise with a prefix stuck on it, because of the different vowel sounds.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE. I hate that "weez" sound just as I do in Louise, but somehow putting an "El" in front of Louise (sounds the same though the spelling is different) makes it even worse.

I love it! I also like Louise and Louisa. They’re all good sounding names that are easy enough to pronounce.

Despite its popularity, I like it! I'd never use it, but I know a few Eloises and its a sweet name. Oddly enough, I cant stand the name Louise or Louisa haha
