I like both Camille and Camilla, but I can’t decide what is better.

Camilla is my mom's name. I love her a lot, but I don't really care for her name. In English or French I prefer Camille, but we live in Sweden and here I prefer Camilla.

I prefer Camille.

I like Camille in French - met a French family with daughter Camille and it was really appealing.
But I don't care for the MEAL it makes in English.
Camilla is cold and stuffy, but it's kind of a power name too, and seems young to me even though I know (of) some older Camillas. So I'd go with that.

This has me questioning why I hate the MEEL sound in Amelia but not in Camille. Huh.

AgreeThe MEAL sound is so ugly.Camille in French is cute.Camilla is a power name. Naomi Campbell played a character called Camilla in a TV Show called 'Empire' and it just seemed like such a powerful name.

I prefer Camille, but both are fine. I wouldn't use Camilla because of the reference to the current singer, whom I am not a fan of.

Camilla, bc English form of the name of one of my favorite female singers - Camila Cabello! My parents also used to be neighbors with a very nice lady named Camilla. Sadly, Camilla moved away and the new neighbors after her weren't nearly as close with us, but I'm still friends with her on Facebook, so...But yeah, Camilla over Camille any day!

I prefer Camille. Camilla doesn't appeal to me at all.

I prefer Camille. I just think it's prettier.

I much prefer Camilla. Yes, I think of Prince Charles's wife, but I've known others too.

Camille is much better, in my opinion. It makes me think of a really calm and nice environment. Fresh white sheets, white candles, the ocean, the sun.Camilla reminds me of the wife of Prince Charles and the whole messy situation with Diana. I don't even read gossip magazines, but everyone still kind of knows their story. I remember someone once saying that apparently he once told her "I want to be your tampon" while cheating on Diana. No, thanks. It's not a bad name and it is usable but I automatically think of her. Also, it is more likely to get misspelled. Camila is actually more common than Camilla and Kamila is used in Poland and several other countries. Kamilla is used too.I prefer Camila because it doesn't make me think of the whole royal gossip and because kah-MEE-la sounds nicer to me.

I want to be your tampon??!! Oy, that would have turned me off to him so quickly. Disgusting and creepy.

Technically, he didn't say he wanted to be her tampon. This was the conversation:Prince Charles: Oh, God. I’ll just live inside your trousers or something. It would be much easier!Camilla: What are you going to turn into, a pair of knickers? Oh, you’re going to come back as a pair of knickers.Prince Charles: Or, God forbid, a Tampax. Just my luck! Camilla: You are a complete idiot! Oh, what a wonderful idea.Prince Charles: My luck to be chucked down a lavatory and go on and on forever swirling round on the top, never going down.Note the "God forbid", and "Just my luck!" But for ease of ridicule, it became in the popular imagination the much simpler "I want to be your tampon." I love these OT tangents.

Yeah, and then SNL did a sketch in which Charles was really going to be turned into a tampon, with Mike Meyers playing the Queen and saying, "A mother can't stand in the way of her son's dream."

I prefer Camille, as it’s more my type.

They are both okay, but I slightly prefer Camilla. Camille would work good as a middle name.

I like them both too, but i think i prefer Camilla a bit more :)

Camilla appeals to me for being, firstly, unambiguously female and, secondly, established as an English name. Camille had retained its French aura, and since most people pronounce it cuhMEEL, which is horribly close to the Afrikaans word for a camel, this is unfortunate.

I prefer Camille, but like Milla too.
