Castile for a boy
Castile (prn cass-STEEL) has been on my mind lately. I thought Castiel was prn this way and was disappointed when it wasn't, but I actually now think I like the Castile spelling better. Anyway, Castile strikes me as being a very handsome and intellectual name. WDYT?

Way, way too soapy.
I just think of the region in Spain. It doesn't feel very namey to me.
I know it as a last name, when spelled Casteel, pronounced the same way. Castile is handsome, perhaps because of the association I have with the last name.
Oh, I like the sound of it. It is less awkward than Castiel and feels regal thanks to the 'castle' meaning.
I prefer Castille a bit more though, just to get away from the 'castile soap' association and because the pronunciation is more obvious.

Castile soap
That's litterly the only thing that comes to mind, which I pronounce interchangeably, usually as 'Cas-ty-uhl' It's strange to see it as a name. I don't like it.
As for 'Castiel', I immediately go for the 3 syllable pronunciation, thanks to the tv series, Supernatural. (: I think it sounds alot nicer. I prefer the soft 'El' sound as opposed to 'STEEL' which I personally find harsh.
