Jessica or Jennifer (more)
Would you choose Jessica or Jennifer and why?Would you choose Jessie or Jennie and why?Would you choose a name from the Jess-group or the Jen-group and which one and why? E.g. Jessa, Jessica, Jessie, Jessamine, Jessamy or Jennifer, Jenna, Jennica etc.You can change spellings.

I would choose Jessamine, but probably as a middle name because it could be tiresome to explain all the time and she'd be called Jess anyway.
Jessica and Jennifer are really really common and a bit bland to me.

Jessica: more modern than Jennifer and I like the nickname potentials better.
Jessie: same as above.I’d always choose a “Jess” name over a “Jen” name. Jessamine is pretty.

I much prefer Jessica, it would be a favorite if it weren’t so overused. Jennifer bores me stupid and seems even more dated.Jess or Jessie are cute nicknames but I’m not crazy on any of the variants.

My name is Jessica-Kate and I would rather be a Jessica than a Jennifer because I prefer the nicknames. Definitely Jessie; in fact, I would go with Jessie as a full name. I'd stick with Jennifer as a Jen-name though.

Jennifer, just because I have a cousin named Jessica. I think I like them equally. I like Jennica for some reason. It always sounded like a fantasy novel character.

Jessica. It's slightly less ubiquitous than Jennifer. I also like the nickname Jess far better than the nickname Jen. I would choose Jessie, but I prefer just Jess. Out of those options, I like Jessica the best.

Jessica. I love the Allman Brother's song. Jennie. I love the dog named this in the Maurice Sendak book. Neither Jessica or Jennifer are really favorites...but I do like Jess for a boy.

I like best, Jessica more, I like Jenna too

I dont like either, but Jessica seems friendlier.
From the second row, I like Jennie, it's pretty cute.
I love Jessamine and Jessa.

I hate them both with a fiery passion.I prefer Jessy over Jenny, abut Jess over Jessy. ‘Jenn’ things sound dated to me.

I dunno.

Jessica because I've never liked the "fer" ending in Jennifer.Jennie because it sounds more feminine and sweeter. My only issue with Jennifer is the last syllalble, Jessie is a little masculine. I think I'd pick Jenna over Jessa, Jessie, etc.Although I prefer Jessica and objectively like it, I'd rather have my fingernails pulled out than use it. So, so tired of it. I have known so many.

JessicaWhen I was in fifth grade, there were four (FOUR!) Jennifer's in my after-school group of like 20 kids, which made it one-fifth Jennifer. lol So yeah, it's waaaaaaaaay overused where I'm from, whereas I don't remember meeting as many Jessica's.As for nicknames, I prefer Jessie. If I were to use Jennie, I'd use it as a nickname for Genevieve, which I do like.

I would probably use Jessica if we had a baby girl today. I have always loved it.
I have never liked Jennifer at all; it's the fer ending that I find unattractive, I think; also I have a cousin named Jennifer and none named Jessica. :)
I do think Jenny is a nice, friendly name, but a bit generic, like Johnny or Billy or Susie. Like a placeholder name.I do like Jenna.
And Jesse is nice on a boy.

Honestly, I think Jessica and Jennifer are kind of dated at this point.I have a close family member named Jenica who is really important to me so I have a strong positive association. Jessamine is a GP and I like Jesse for a boy.

NeitherThey’re overused and in dire need of retirement. The totally unrelated Jessamine is lovely.

Jessica is way better than Jennifer. I think Jessica is actually pretty, can be mature and friendly. Jennifer sounds more annoying and mean.
I also think Jessie is better than Jennie (but I've actually never seen Jennie outside of the one from Blackpink... it's always Jenny in my experience) I like Jessica, Jessamine, and Jessamy. Jessa is okay. Jessie is only good if it's short for something.
Jenna is a little better than Jennifer but still basic. Jennica is interesting but I'd still say Jessica is better.
ETA: I do see why people would have liked Jennifer before it was popular. It's a form of Gwenhwyfar, it had an unusual but interesting ending with the "ifer", etc. I just can't unsee the 80's. (same with Jason- I'm sure people thought it was so cool and interesting to name their baby after a Greek hero but now it's just... Jason.)
I also didn't know that Jenny was short for Jane before it was short for Jennifer. I guess it was a form of Janey/Janie. I'm not sure what I would think if I met a Jane who went by Jenny, but it's kinds of cool.

I prefer Jenny to Jessie, and therefore Jennifer to Jessica. I like them both about equally.

I've never been wild about the 'sica' sound of Jessica aven though I don't mind Jess, Jessie or Jessa. Still, there's something so sweet about Jenny so I'd go with Jennifer. Between Jessie and Jennie, I'd go with Jennie (prefer Jenny). As for alternate names, I do like Jessenia. IRL, it might be unwieldy to use, however.

Neither are favorites, but I think overall I prefer Jennifer. I like the nickname Jenny a lot. I've known tons of Jennifers, but I think I've known even more Jessicas, and I haven't liked them quite as much as the Jennifers (who I tend to like a lot for some reason). Jessica feels kind of flighty, too. That said, I do like Jessie.

JessicaJessica sparkles. Jessica is Shakespearean. Jessica is bubbly.Jessie is cute for a kid and Jess is pretty. A thousand times better than Jennifer. If I had to pick a Jen name it would be Genevieve or Jenna. They have more life than Jennifer.

I love the name Jennifer and it's one of my favorites. However, I do prefer the nickname Jessie over the nickname Jennie. If I had to use Jessie, it would be as a given name and not short for Jessica. I like the nickname Jen for Jennifer though.

I much prefer Jennifer. Jennie is actually really cute. I think I prefer the Jenny spelling though. I would pick Jennifer out of those names, but I quite like Jenna too.I don’t like Jessica, and Jessa just reminds me of Jessa Duggar.

I prefer Jennifer to Jessica, but I like Jessie better than Jennie. Not sure why, though. If I could choose any of those, I would probably choose Jenna, because it's not as common as Jessica and Jennifer, but it's not totally obscure.
