It seems very fakey-fake French. It would be like if the word “Pretty” suddenly took off as a name in non-English-speaking countries. It’s kind of cheap and flimsy and lacking in historical context to ground it.
I know Angelina Jolie’s mother was French, but that doesn’t mean she had good taste or is an authority on French names.

Bella feels a bit like that to me as Italian , though at least it can be considered a nickname/derivative of Isabella? Still it’s as if Beauty or Beautiful became a name.
