Carter

I love it but...
... it's so harsh that I struggle to imagine it on a baby or toddler. I actually like it enough to use it on a boy IRL but it would have to be a middle as it's just too harsh and heavy as a first. I've never heard of it as a girls' name but I'm not a fan.
I like Carter Thomas and Carter Eli. I've used Carter Samuel as a combo before when I've mucked around with it as a FN.

I like it on a boy, it's on my long list. I like it in kind of a GP way on a girl, like if someone else did it, I'd be secretly pretty awed.
Carter Avery and Carter Emery are fairly unisex.
I like Carter Thomas and Carter Elijah.
I prefer it in my British accent than in my husband's American (Bostonian) one, hence why we could never use it, even if he liked it.

I like it, although not nearly to the extent that I used to. That said, I still think it's a fairly decent, tolerable name but I understand why others might not care for it. A cousin of mine actually has a son named this, (One of my aunt's many grandchildren) so naturally he initially springs to mind. And I think the name has suited him just fine. (:
As a given name, I find it plenty ridiculous on a girl (same goes for Emery) and would only lead to unnecessary confusion.

I think it's too surname-y. It has similar vibes to Caleb, and I find it completely masculine.

Don't like it, especially for a girl
Dislike it on both genders. It honestly just looks like another her trendy surname-name for boys. For girls? It’s ridiculous. Plus, I know a very annoying kid named Carter so the name has no real appeal to me.
This is my baby cousin's name. His name is Carter George, which I think is adorable. He was named after Joe Carter the baseball player who won Toronto the '93 World Series. Even though it is a last name and should be unisex, it feels masculine to me. Not sure why!
From your list, Carter Joshua is my favourite I think. Carter Thomas is cute too.
