I'll likely use James if I ever have a son to honor my grandfather, though likely as a MN (I know, I know) as my family already has loads of various Jameses (cousins James "Jimmy" and Jamie, uncle James "Jim", and my grandfather was James "Jim" named after an uncle James "Jim" of his own haha).
I'd never use James for a girl, or even Jamie (I'd just use Josephine if I needed to honor him; his MN was Joseph).
