Re: Lulu?

School secretaries are my favourite people, and one of the best I've ever worked with was a much older Lulu. One day I asked her what it was short for, and she said that it was a stand-alone name and the only one she had: no mn at all. I found this interesting, because clearly her parents must have liked it very much: I've got no clue how old she was, but certainly not born after the 1930s. It has a Jazz Age vibe to me; I can see a Lulu in a daringly short skirt with a fringe that shows her knees when she Charlestons.
I suppose Louise could become Lulu; also any of the Lucy names - Lucia, Lucinda; Louette and Louanne and even Marylou.
