I think Lorenz would have to be paired with just the right mn, since it kind of has an abrupt sound. How about:

I go back and forth between the pronunciations. I'd probably end up using Lor-enz, but both are nice.
I rather like Lorenz George. This is particularly hard, because I'd rather use a family name in the middle! Argh.
