Madeleine is my favourite. Madeline seems more strict and headmistressy.

I prefer Madeleine because I don't like the pronunciation confusion with Madeline, and I don't think I've ever met anyone who pronounces it with the EYE ending.

I think overall I actually prefer the American spelling Madelyn! I wouldn't consider it "kre8ive," though there was a time when I would have. The "leine" thing doesn't really exist in English, and -lyn makes more sense.

I like Madeline because I like it pronounced Mad-uh-line not lyn. I know that Madeleine is pronounced -lenne, but no American is going to get that. It's always -lyn.

Madeleine, I prefer the look and pronunciation of this spelling.

Madeline. It's a family name, going back to the 1890s/1900s, and I think it looks neater and tidier than Madeleine.

I think Madeline looks nice and clean, but I've met so many people who try to pronounce it "Madelyn" that I'd probably pick Madeleine so it's more obvious.
Madeleine is also cool because it looks a little more 'historical' (if that makes any sense).

I prefer Madeleine because there is less pronunciation confusion. Madeline can be mad-uh-LIN or mad-uh-LINE (which I don't like as much).
