It's a lovely, classic name. You could have it a whole lot worse.
If you really dislike it, you could always go by Laurie, your middle name, or possible another name in the future.
A name can't be jinxed. That's superstitious and defeatist thinking in my opinion. It's in your head.
My name is Amy, and I disliked it as a child. I thought it sounded too common and suburban, and it sounded like a silly, perpetual nickname. As I got older, I learned to appreciate it more as being kind of cute, fun, and actually quite a classic name. My mother was inspired by the book Little Women from the 1800s. I still don't love it, but I realized it could have been a lot worse, and I could always do better with my own child.
Most importantly, you are more than just a name. You don't have to love someone's name to love someone, including yourself.
