Re: Blake, Blair, Briar
Blake is okay. Especially for a middle name. I know a woman named Blake as well as a couple guys.
Blair: The only two people named Blair that I know of personally are both male, one's about five or six and the other's in his fifties. But it still seems more feminine to me than masculine. I don't like it, it sounds snotty. Blake is okay, but not on a girl.
Briar: This one's another name that doesn't seem ambiguous to me because it has very little history as a name, period. It strikes me as entirely femine, probably because of the Briar Rose thing. I think it's an ugly name anyhow, just sounds really unattractive.I wouldn't use any of these on a girl. If I had to pick a b unisex name for a girl I'd pick Bobbie/Bobbi. It's fairly cute, actually. Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you criticize him, you're a mile away and you have his shoes!
