Ask any South African! Joel Stransky, flyhalf for the Springboks, won the World Cup for us in 1995 with a drop goal in extra time. I still get breathless.
I love Joe as a nn for its friendly sound and because I associate it with a dear uncle who died too young. He was Joseph, but if I wanted a Joe son, I think I probably wouldn't be able to resist Joel.
