WDYTO Calla?
Calla just popped into my head. I like it. Are you surprised it’s not more popular?

It seems awkward and strange to me, so no, I'm not surprised.

Too close to Cally/Kally/Callie which I don’t care for.

I don't like it. I like a lot of two-syllable -a names, but Calla ... too close to being callous, perhaps? I think it's the flower, though I love arum lilies - they grow wild where I live, and flower joyously in winter. And my very dear Carolyn friend has been known as Cal since she was a toddler and it was her best attempt at her actual name. So, I don't know why Calla lacks appeal but it certainly does.

I think there was a poster on here, several years ago, who had a daughter named Calla. In any event I think it's quite pretty, though I prefer Calista.

I really like it and am surprised it hasn't caught on. It's gentle and naturey and pretty. It's certainly not at the top of my girl list, but I wouldn't be upset if I had to use it.

It's weird, it sounds like it's missing a letter, and I don't just say that because my own name is a letter off. It sounds incomplete, like a fragment of a longer name.

I like it! It is my hairdresser's name. I am sort of surprised it isn't more popular since it does seem to fit in well with other names that are popular right now.

I’m pretty surprised at how uncommon it is, since it’s so similar to Ella and Cora. I guess I like it, though it looks a little nickname-y.

I was just thinking the same about this name! I’ve made a poll asking what everyone thinks of it: https://www.behindthename.com/polls/319829

I love it. It's simple and pretty with good imagery. Yeah, it does seem like it should be more popular. It would be easy to go back and forth between Calla and Callie. I've met some people named just Callie and it always seems like it should be short for something, and Calla is a great option for that because it's not any longer than Callie but it still looks complete.
