I like it. I briefly considered it as a middle name for one of my sons, as an honoring name, as it’s my grandfather’s name. He’s a nice guy, but we’ve never been particularly close, so I nixed the idea in favor of an honoring name of a family member we’re much closer to.
I’m religious, so that part doesn’t bother me at all.
I think Pete the cat books have actually made me like the nickname Pete. I used to hate it, now I think it’s cute.
